- Tiny Lund was born on March 3, 1936 in Cross, South Carolina, USA. He was an actor, known for Speedway (1968), Tiny Lund: Hard Charger! (1967) and ABC's Wide World of Sports (1961). He died on August 17, 1975 in Talladega, Alabama, USA.
- Caught a 55lb striped bass, setting a South Carolina state record that stood for 30 years
- Was a four time champion in NASCAR's Grand American series
- Received the Carnegie Medal for Heroism in 1963 for pulling fellow race car driver Marvin Panch out of a burning car at the Daytona International Raceway. Panch was so greatful that from his hospital bed he insisted to his car owners, Glen, and Leonard Wood to let him drive the car. Lund won the 1963 Daytona 500.
