Caroline Libresco(I)

Caroline Libresco is a leading curator, producer, and creative executive in the independent film sector. She spent 18 years as one of the head programmers of the Sundance Film Festival as well as director/chief curator of Sundance Catalyst, raising $31M for 89 films including Won't You Be My Neighbor, Social Dilemma, Truffle Hunters, Crip Camp, and The Witch. She was also founder and director of the Sundance Women's Initiative. Her producing credits include Food and Country (producer/story producer), We Are Pat (executive producer), Our American Family (executive producer), Disclosure (executive producer), American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs (producer), Sunset Story (producer), and Fanci's Persuasion (producer/writer). Her credits as consulting producer include Shuffle, Power of Film, and Monk in Pieces. She is co-founder of and principal consultant to Jewish Story Partners, a philanthropic foundation which has awarded $4.2M in its first four years to 118 documentary film projects including Coexistence My Ass, Holding Liat, My Undesirable Friends, Steal This Story Please, Sabbath Queen, Last Flight Home, A Still Small Voice, and My Name is Andrea. She works often as a development advisor and story consultant, and is an active moderator, juror, and tutor around the world. She served on the boards of Women Make Movies (2008-2013) and IDA (2013-2022) and serves on the inaugural board of Vista House. A member of AMPAS, she holds degrees from UCLA Film School (MFA), Harvard (MA), and Oberlin (BA).
