Marc Bikindou, born in France, began his career in 1987 with
commercials. During his three year stint as an assistant director, he
worked with names like
Gerry Fisher, Academy Award winner
Régis Wargnier,
Pascal Thomas, as well as with Ridley and
Tony Scott. He collaborated on over
35 projects. As assistant to the producer
Jean-Jacques Fourgeaud, he
collaborated with
François Reichenbach, whose
documentary film on Artur Rubinstein
won an Oscar.
While assistant production manager on a T.V. series for French station TF-1, Marc directed and produced his own short features. He won an award for his short L'Ascenseur, ("The Lift"), at the Cabourg Romantic Film Festival in 1991. In the category of documentary film-making, he has directed and produced twenty such films, each an hour in length. These films can still be seen on Learning French TV channel and the French cable channel Voyage.
In 1999, Marc produced his first feature, Deception (2003), with GFT Kingsborough Films - shot in Canada. Max Fischer directed this $3.5 million feature film with Debi Mazar, Karina Lombard, and French actor Marc Lavoine. Bikindou's next venture was to associate produce feature Vendetta (2001), a.k.a. "Vendetta" alongside Augusto Caminito, who also produced King of New York (1990) . This $6 million film was directed by Dennis Berry, and shot in Venice, Rome, and New York. The cast included Joe Mantegna, Emmanuelle Seigner, and Henry Cavill. (Cavill will portray Superman in Man of Steel (2013). Additionally, he is known for his role in Immortals (2011) ). Following, Marc co-produced Den of Lions (2003), which was shot in Hungary and released in 2003. This James Bruce movie stars Stephen Dorff, Bob Hoskins, and Laura Fraser.
During these production endeavors, beginning in 2001, Marc became a sales agent for the worldwide distribution department of Nu Image/ Millenium Films. At Nu Image, Marc works with the company's founders, Avi Lerner and Danny Dimbort. He specializes in the Western European market, and was involved with the sales of The Black Dahlia (2006), directed by Brian De Palma, starring Scarlett Johansson (2006), Rambo (2008), directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone (2008), and 16 Blocks (2006), directed by Richard Donner, starring Bruce Willis (2006)-just to name a few .
Marc Bikindou created his own company, Jet Lag Productions, in 2007. This was a necessary step taken to executive produce Breaking Point (2009), starring Tom Berenger, Busta Rhymes and Armand Assante. This crime drama was filmed in New York, and released in 2009. Then came Smile (2009), a teen horror movie shot in Morocco. Jet Lag and Jay Julien,(producer of King of New York ),co-produced Smile with Italian distribution company Cinecitta. Also released in 2009, Jet Lag generated horror/action flick ¬The Bleeding (2009), starring Michael Madsen.
Most recently, Marc via Jet Lag has executive-produced supernatural thriller, The Ghostmaker (2012), also known as "The Ghostmaker",(2011). Mauro Borrelli, who directed this feature, is known for his work as a conceptual artist for Tim Burton. Lionsgate handled the domestic release of this picture. Separately, through Millenium Films, Marc worked as sales agent for star-studded action film The Expendables (2010), directed by Sylvester Stallone (2010). Again through Millenium Films, he handled sales for the sequel, The Expendables 2 (2012), directed by Simon West (2012) and thriller The Paperboy (2012), directed by Lee Daniels (2012), starring Nicole Kidman, Matthew McConaughey, and John Cusack.
