Biography

Fabrizio Byron Rampotti, alias Byron Rink (born July 4, 1976), is a Roman musician, writer and film-maker. Ever since his earliest youth he became passionate about quirks and horror stories, at the age of eight he discovered his first book by Edgar Allan Poe which will guide him through all Gothic literature until Decadentism. In 1996 he published in a limited edition the collection of poems called "Absinthe for two", a selection with strong underground shades that introduced him into the artistic and literary environment. In 1998 he founded the music band "Dirtyfake" with which he began to make the first live shows. The band reworked the New Wave tradition by developing it in the typical alternative of the period. Rink wrote the songs and improved his prose. Writing led him to produce a good number of poems and short stories and to win some literary prizes. An intense reading season began for him. He started working on television and began to get passionate about video-making. He wrote his first medium-length film "Je voudrais pas crever" inspired by a poem by Boris Vian. In the meanwhile, he continued working on music production. In 2009 the album "TumorRow" was received with great fervour and one of the songs, "Hollywould" was defined as the Best Indie-Rock Song of 2013 by webzine Ourstage Magazine. In 2020 he wrote, directed and produced the web series "Fantasmagoria".
