  • Alan Luna is a Casting Director and Producer for television and film in live action and animation. His recent credits include "The Long Game" premiering at SXSW, winning the Narrative Spotlight Audience Award and premiering #1 on Netflix on its opening weekend, "Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" premiering at TIFF, which was produced by Lin Manuel Miranda, Eugenio Derbez and Kyra Sedgwick, "Jenni" a musical biopic about Jenni Rivera, the horror film "Rosario" directed by Film Independent Project Involve and USC alum Felipe Vargas in his feature debut, Sam Raimi/Marvel's "Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness", the Netflix series' "Selena: the Series", the peabody nominated "Gentefied" and "The Chosen One", Blumhouse' "Run Sweetheart Run" premiering at Sundance Film Festival, Disney's remake of the their 1st Disney Channel original movie "Under Wraps", it's sequel "Under Wraps 2", and TV series "Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion", Amazon's 1st ever Multilingual/Latin American western "La Cabeza de Joaquín Murrieta", AMC's Allblk network "Send Help" co-created by Jean Eli ("Insecure") and Mike Gauyo ("Insecure", "Ginny and Georgia").

    Alan co-founded ABL Casting, a casting office with longtime Casting Directors Michelle Adams, (who's worked on series such as Dear White People (Netflix), Star (Fox), Moesha, The Good Doctor (ABC), Greenleaf (OWN), and films such as BlacKkKlansman (premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prix Award), Fruitvale Station (premiering at Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film), Sony's Cadillac Records, Paramount's Four Brothers amongst many more), and Natalie Ballesteros (who's worked on series such as Narcos Mexico (Netflix), Andor (Disney+), Los Espookys (HBO) and East Los High (Hulu) and films such as the Academy Award-winning "Coco" for Disney/Pixar, Netflix "Sergio", starring Wagner Moura and Ana De Armas. She was also Director of Talent and Casting for CBS where she oversaw the casting for series such as NCIS, NCIS LA, NCIS New Orleans, Blue Bloods, Bull, The Equalizer, Bob Hearts Abishola, United States of Al, B Positive, and Mom, among several other pilots and projects.

    With over a decade of casting and development experience, Alan has collaborated on projects with Disney, Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon, Nickelodeon, Hulu, Lionsgate, Marvel Studios, amongst many more.

    As first generation Mexican-American, Alan believes supporting and mentoring emerging artists and filmmakers creates lasting impact in entertainment, including promoting authentic representation on screen and behind the scenes, and creates a pipeline for historically unseen communities to share their stories. He's worked on various films/fellowships such as Film Independent/Project Involve, the Lena Waithe/Hillman Grad Indeed Rising Voices Program (premiering at Tribeca Film Festival), Cate Blanchett/Dirty Films POC, Rideback Rise, Netflix/LALIFF Fellowship, PBS, Latino Public Broadcasting (LPB), Warner Bros Access, MACRO x TikTok Black Creatives, Outfest x Concord, The Short Film Project (with Producers Guild of America, Google and Paul Feig), as well as various student films.

    In 2021, Alan helped develop, produce and cast the Warner Bros. Discovery Access Talent Spotlight Program, Warner Bros first ever acting diversity showcase. Following the success of the Talent Spotlight, his office cast the HBO Max x WBD Access Animated Shorts Program. A fellowship aimed at bolstering emerging POC creators of adult animation programming an opportunity to bring 8 completed adult animations to a global audience on HBO Max.

    Alan is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He resides in Los Angeles, CA, with his cats Crusty and Squeaky.
