- (June 28, 1994) Became a Toronto Maple Leaf in a multi-player trade which involved Toronto sending Wendel Clark, Sylvain Lefebvre, Landon Wilson and first round draft pick to Quebec for Mats Sundin, Garth Butcher, Todd Warriner and first round draft pick.
- (September 30, 1997) Becomes the 16th player in Maple Leaf history to be named team Captain.
- The first European to ever be drafted 1st overall, 1989 by the Quebec Nordiques.
