Thomas Scott Stanton is an American Director and Cinematographer whose work spans independent film, studio features, documentaries, and commercial filmmaking. As a cinematographer, Stanton's feature credits include The Unholy Trinity, starring Pierce Brosnan and Samuel L. Jackson; Netflix's Benji and Love & Gelato; All About Nina, starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Common; Crown Vic; Growing Up Smith; and Matt Sobel's Take Me to the River.

Take Me to the River premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where Stanton's atmospheric, naturalistic cinematography helped create the film's distinctive sense of beauty, isolation, and unease. His work as a cinematographer is grounded in character and performance, using light, composition, and environment to place the audience within the emotional experience of the story.

That same performance-driven approach extends to Stanton's work as a director. His short film Deliá won Best Short Drama at the New Hampshire Film Festival. He later directed, produced, and photographed MARE, starring Kaili Hollister and Robert Pine, which had its world premiere at the Vashon Island Film Festival.

Throughout his career, Stanton has developed a filmmaking approach centered on intimate performances, naturalistic imagery, and emotionally subjective storytelling. His collaborations have included actors Samuel L. Jackson, Pierce Brosnan, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Common, John Lithgow, Winona Ryder, Jessica Chastain, Forest Whitaker, and Robert Pine. Stanton is based in Los Angeles, where he continues to direct and develop narrative projects while working as a cinematographer.
