Jalen Saip

Jalen’s journey as a performer began at the age of four, singing in church concerts and pageants alongside her mother and siblings. In her youth, she continued to perform with her family at different special events and fundraisers as well as taking on lead roles in high school plays and musicals, laying an early foundation for her passion for performance. Although she was accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Jalen chose to take a different path, prioritizing stability and personal growth while exploring her broader interests. She pursued a degree in the Arts, studying to become a teacher, while her creative drive continued to evolve. This period of reflection ultimately led her to reassess her goals and reconnect with her artistic ambitions, prompting her to add a minor in theatre to her studies. After graduating, she worked as a teaching assistant to support herself while continuing to train and perform. She later accepted an apprentice role at Pacific Theatre, marking a pivotal step in her professional development as she learned about theatre production alongside performance. Saip is an actor, singer, and photographer with a background in improv and comedy. She worked as the Artistic Director at The Improv Centre on Granville Island and has been a MainStage performer there since 2019. She has since expanded her work into all genres of film and television. In addition to her performance career, Saip is an all-around athlete with specialized skills in softball, hockey, swimming, and equestrian riding (Western).
