Biography

  • Erik Bolin is a classically trained actor from the prestigious Malmo Theatre Academy in southern Sweden, known internationally for its excellence. He performs on stage, in TV and film, with over 20 TV series credits to his name, and works in Radio Theatre. Beyond acting, Erik also writes and directs, creating short films and music videos, and has extensive experience leading and managing creative projects. He is also an appreciated audio book narrator and lecturer.

His passion for theater took root in high school, where the world of expression and imagination became a refuge from his challenging environment, allowing him to process and transform personal trauma into art.

Inspired by the Grotowski tradition, Erik's early work often explored experimental and avant-garde theater. He spent several years collaborating with Strindbergs Intima Teater and Riksteatern, among other institutions. Since 2006, he has also contributed to nearly 20 productions with Swedish National Radio Theatre.

In 2010, Erik initiated an anti-violence project, creating a film to engage young people in discussions about the impact of youth violence. This project drew from his own experiences of growing up in a high-crime suburb of Stockholm. The resulting film, Res Dig Inte! (Stay Down!), was later acquired by Sveriges Television, Sweden's national broadcaster.

Erik has also contributed voice work to the animated trilogy Djurvännerna (The Animal Friends), by Eva Lindström, which was nominated for a Guldbagge award. His work took on an international dimension in 2015 when he was cast as Oliver Craig in the Russian comedy Eternal Summer. The character became widely popular, marking Erik's successful entry into international film.
