Reza Rasouli is a filmmaker, director, and screenwriter from Mashhad, Iran, living and working in Vienna since 2019. He holds a BA in Directing and is currently completing his Master's at the Film Academy Vienna. His work explores themes of family, migration, and belonging with an observational visual style and restrained performances that invite reflection over melodrama.
His short films have screened at leading festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs ShortFest, and Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia. Night of Passage earned several accolades, among them the Audience Award at Max Ophüls and Best International Short at Trieste, and received the First Steps Award-Germany's renowned newcomer (Nachwuchs) award for emerging filmmakers.
