Films by women can become political acts simply because they were made. A film made by a woman in Afghanistan or Iran can be considered a political act because women in those countries are not generally afforded freedom of expression.

New York... it's wonderful and awful all at the same time... awful because it's a constant struggle to craft a good life, which I don't think is just about the money, although that's a huge part of it.
