Sophie Kesoglidis is a Greek-Australian Melbourne-based CALD writer/ director/ producer who studied in the MFA producing program at American Film Institute, Los Angeles.
Her stories explore underdog characters with a focus on identity, risk and authenticity.
Beginning as a professional violist performing on many soundtracks, music plays an integral role in the genesis of her work.
Sophie was the recipient of the AACTA SONY Pitch Focus competition for her coming-of-age drama short, LISTEN, which premiered at Flickerfest 2026, an Academy Award and BAFTA Qualifying film festival in Sydney.
Sophie's abridged version of her comedy, THE BUSKING ADVENTURES OF VIOLET AND SPARKLES, placed as runner up in the Village Cinemas Short Film Challenge and featured a stellar cast including Daniela Farinacci (Lantana) and Syd Brisbane (Deadloch). The full short, VIOLET AND SPARKLES, is due for upcoming release.
Sophie received the Australian Writers Guild (AWG) award for Outstanding Performance during her screenwriting studies at RMIT and has since been inducted to AWG Pathways.
