- Stanley Booth was born on January 5, 1942 in Waycross, Georgia, USA. He was an actor, known for Jekyll Island (1998), Road Music: Easy Riders, Rolling Stones and Basically Frightened: The Musical Madness of Colonel Bruce Hampton (2012). He died on December 19, 2024 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA.
- Booth attended Memphis State University where he studied English and art history.
- After a brief spell in New Orleans doing post-grad work at Tulane, Booth returned to Memphis in 1964, where he studied and taught martial arts for a time. He soon took a job with Tennessee Department of Welfare. Working for the state, Booth was appalled by the casual injustices of government bureaucracy and quit his job in 1965. He set to writing a novel that predicted the racial unrest that would consume America in the next few years.
- Booth is best known for embedding himself with British rock band the Rolling Stones in the late '60s, covering the group's epochal 1969 tour of America, which ended with the concert tragedy at Altamon.
