Biography

Mustafa Avkiran is a Turkish actor known for his extensive work in theatre, television, and film. A graduate of the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory, he began his career with the Istanbul State Theatre and later completed postgraduate studies at the same institution. Alongside his stage work, he has played a significant role in actor training, co founding the iSM 2. Kat acting institution and serving for a period as manager of the Antalya State Theatre. Avkiran is widely recognized by television audiences for his performances in popular series such as Kinali Kar (2002), Ezo Gelin (2006), Leaf Cast (2006), Kuzey Güney (2011), Filinta (2014), and the comedy series Yeni Gelin (2017), where his versatility and strong screen presence have made him a familiar and respected figure in Turkish drama.

In 1995, together with Övül Avkiran and Naz Erayda he co-founded the theatre "5. Sokak Tiyatrosu" (5th Street Theatre) in Antalya and in 2000 "ISM 2th Floor" in Istanbul with the theatre "Oyunevi". Since 2007, they also run "garajistanbul", a theatre that originated plays such "Ashura" (2004) and "Oyunu Bozun!" (Destroy the Game!, 2006).

Studied acting at the Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul, Turkey (until 1990). Besides working as an actor, he also directed a number of plays for the national theatre in Istanbul, including "Lower Depths" by Maxim Gorki, for which he also won the 7. Afife prize for best directing.
