His drag name comes from a play on words, 'hiding in closet'.

During season 12 of RuPaul's Drag Race (2009), RuPaul found his drag name Heidi N Closet to be a tongue twister. This meant every episode, their name was changed and included Heidi Ho, Heidi Afrodite and Heidi Hydrates.
