Biography

  • Erik Oleson is the Showrunner and Executive Producer on the second season of Amazon Prime's "Carnival Row," starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevigne.

Whether in film or television, Oleson's passion for storytelling has taken him into writing on a gamut of productions of every type and scope.

Most recently, Oleson was the Showrunner and Executive Producer of the acclaimed, award-winning third season of "Marvel's Daredevil" on Netflix. In the spirit of comic book runs, Oleson put his own stamp on the series - crafting a dark, grounded, character-driven thriller, which raised the bar on the action Daredevil fans have come to love. Alongside series star Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio returned as Wilson Fisk.

Having worked his way up the television writing ranks on more than a dozen television series Oleson's other credits include as the Head Writer and Executive Producer of the second season of Amazon's original series "The Man in the High Castle," which garnered Oleson a USC Scripter Award Nomination in 2017. Additionally, Oleson's served as writer and Co-Executive Producer on "Arrow," writer and Supervising Producer on "Kings," and Story Editor on "Jack & Bobby."

Prior to breaking in as a writer, Oleson was a professional reader for luminaries including Kathleen Kennedy, Chris Columbus and Jeffrey Katzenberg. Oleson also worked on the production crews of numerous feature films as well as being a working commercials director while attending the film program at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, from which he graduated in 1995.

Oleson got his first real break though at age 13, when James L. Brooks' "Broadcast News" filmed on location in his Virginia hometown. The crew, taken by his enthusiasm for filmmaking, made him a set mascot.
