Biography

Nadia Hassan is a British-Lebanese artist. As a child, she studied drama, singing, tap dance, and ballet at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London. While attending university at the American University of Beirut, she became involved in Beirut’s theatre scene as a leading actress for over fifteen years, most notably in an acclaimed stage adaptation of Sir Tom Stoppard’s "Darkside", in which she starred as Emily McCoy. In 2021, Nadia was invited to launch and host the "Essentia Readings" podcast (produced by Essentia Foundation) in which she presented and discussed published essays covering philosophy of mind, metaphysics, cosmology, psychology, mythology, foundations of physics, among other topics. Nadia co-starred in a nation-wide TV ad campaign for a law protecting women and children from domestic violence. She also co-starred in a play reading of "Death and the King's Horseman", organized by the AUB Theater Initiative, which was performed in the presence of the author and Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka. In addition to co-writing "Pipes" (2025), "Moondove" (2024), and "Thiiird" (2023), authored works by Nadia have been featured in regional and international publications, including Raseef22, Sukoon, and AramcoWorld.
