M. T. Berndsen is a Series Mania Grand Prize-winning screenwriter, playwright, and novelist working across film, television, and theatre.
He has written eight novels, ten plays, two mini-series, a Netflix Original, and three feature films.
He is the writer and co-creator of the international hit series Blackport-winner of Series Mania, nine Edda Awards, Serielizados, and Best Nordic TV Drama, and a Prix Europa nominee-and the writer of The Valhalla Murders (BBC Four, Netflix).
His plays have won major theatre awards across Europe and Scandinavia, with premieres at the Burgtheater in Vienna, Volksbühne in Berlin, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Berndsen has written and directed the feature films Made in Iceland and Returning to Lulu, and wrote and co-produced Agnes Joy, winner of six Edda Awards and Iceland’s official submission to the 93rd Academy Awards. His novel Feroxwas adapted for the screen, earning five nominations at the Icelandic Edda Film Awards.
He splits his time between Hollywood and Chicago.
