Biography

Tanaquil Le Clerq was born on October 2, 1929 in Paris, France. She was an actress, known for Studio One (1948), Max Liebman Spectaculars (1954) and Dancing for Mr. B: Six Balanchine Ballerinas (1989). She was married to George Balanchine. She died on December 31, 2000 in Manhattan, New York, USA.

Principal dancer with the New York City Ballet; her career was ended when she was tragically stricken with polio.

Upon her death, her remains were interred at Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest in New York City. Her location plot is the St. Ignatius of Antioch Church.
