Warren Gamaliel Harding was the 29th president of the United States, serving from 1921 until his death in 1923. A member of the Republican Party, he was one of the most popular sitting U.S. presidents. After his death, a number of scandals were exposed, including Teapot Dome, as well as an extramarital affair with Nan Britton, which diminished his reputation.

He used tobacco in all its forms - cigarettes (Camels were said to the ones he smoked the most for he smoked a pack-in-a-half every day), cigars (he smoked at least two a day), sniffing, a pipe and chewing tobacco in which a combination of stress of working as President, as well as moderate to heavy alcohol consumption, may have contributed to his fatal heart attack in 1923 at age 57.
