Biography

Stephanie Suganami (colloquially known as Steph Shep) is an actor, environmental advocate and entrepreneur.

Stephanie stars in the A24 horror "Opus" opposite Ayo Edebiri, Amber Midthunder, Young Mazino, John Malkovich, and Murray Bartlett, directed by Mark Anthony Green. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was released theatrically on March 14, 2025. Other feature credits include the Amazon feature "Something from Tiffany’s" with Zoey Deutch and Ray Nicholson, produced by Hello Sunshine. She will next appear in the indie "Theater Is Dead", directed by Katherine Dudas, which had its premiere at Fantastic Fest. Stephanie also recently wrapped the Hulu pilot "Group Chat" directed by Kenya Barris, starring alongside Kim Kardashian, Yaya DaCosta, Melanie Liburd, and Rebecca Rittenhouse.

On television, she recurred in the latest season Starz's "Power - Book II: Ghost" opposite Michael Ealy in the role of Perla Tanaka. Other credits include the last season of the FX / HULU series "Dave", and Ryan Murphy's hit network procedural, "Doctor Odyssey".

Outside of her film endeavors, with over 1.9 million followers, Stephanie's expertise is leveraging her social influence to inspire global activism. Steph has partnered with prominent lifestyle brands such as American Express, Google, Kerastase, and Bulgari.

Suganami co-founded the digital climate education platform @FutureEarth, Suganami recently joined the board of Vice President Al Gore’s The Climate Reality Project and Los Angeles based social service organization The People Concern.

Through her advocacy, Suganami has generated millions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours for organizations who, like her, relentlessly pursue human flourishing and environmental preservation.
