Biography

Caryl Churchill was born on September 3, 1938 in Finsbury, London, England, UK. She is a writer, known for National Theatre Live: Cloud 9, Play for Tomorrow (1982) and Court of Mystery (1961). She was previously married to David Harter.

Her play, A Number, performed at the Royal Court Theatre Downstairs, was awarded Best Play at the 2002 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards.

In 1961, she married Oxford contemporary David Harter, a barrister, and began raising three sons, Joe, Paul and Rick, in Islington, North London, where she lives.
