- Creator of the popular Italian comic book series "Zagor" and "Mister No"; also a key author for "Tex" (created by his father Giovanni L. Bonelli). Since 1988, the still prominent publishing house founded by his father in 1941 (as "Redazione Audace") has been wearing his name: Sergio Bonelli Editore.
- Son of Giovanni L. Bonelli, brother of Giorgio Bonelli.
