Biography

Julie Dare's lifelong obsession with words was cemented at age 13 with a trip to the National Spelling Bee. Since then, she's garnered writing credits on the streaming drama series 5th Ward (UMC) and over 40 children's books, including Royal Palm Literary Award-winning "Sofia's Flower." Her works explore stories of women redefining themselves after epic failure, devastating loss, and uproarious calamity. With her comedy feature script, My Clone's an A-Hole, Julie was named winner of National Lampoon and Stage 32's Search for Comedy Gold, was a finalist in Universal Pictures' Emerging Writers Fellowship and Final Draft's Big Break Competition, and placed in the Quarterfinals of the Nicholl Fellowship. Most recently, Julie was recently named one of ISA's Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch for 2023.
