Biography

Carrie Stett is an award-winning commercial, film and TV director and writer. She wrote and directed WNBA great Candace Parker's feature documentary "Title IX: 37 Words that Changed America" for TBS, which explored the impact of the legislation on equality for women in sport on its 50th anniversary. Her film "First Down," about an underdog team of youth female tackle football players, won Best Documentary Short at Cinequest Film & VR Festival and has been an official selection of Outfest, Austin Film Festival, Bentonville Film Festival and more. The film explores the mental health struggles of the teens and how a sport normally reserved for men gave them hope.

Previously, Carrie produced and directed Tennis Channel's flagship series "Open Access," hosted by French Open doubles champion Murphy Jensen, a travel series which took viewers behind the scenes on the tennis tour. She also directed "Never Too Late," hosted by Gina Rodriguez, a short film following three women who dreamed of being astronauts as little girls, before women had gone into space, and gave them the chance to be astronauts for a day. As a filmmaker, Carrie is committed to telling stories with social impact and championing underrepresented voices.
