Born in Wycheproof, in the Mallee region of Victoria, Janine then grew up in the 'burbs where her first ambitions centered around ballet and theatrical dance. She later moved onto choreography and teaching.
Having enjoyed a short spurt as a school teacher, and a long career in the dance world she pivoted toward acting. She's been cast in theatre, television, feature films, short films, vertical series, web series and commercials.
Janine cites her childhood literary influences as Perrault's 'The Sleeping Beauty', & writers C.S. Lewis, and J.R.R. Tolkien fantasies. She was fascinated with Disney's 'The Ugly Duckling' and 'Fantasia', along with cinema's 'Epic Theatre', where dragons, witches, and magical creatures emerged large on the big screen. Dragons are still her favourite animals.
