Biography

Idalmis Gato was born on August 30, 1971 in Camagüey, Cuba.

She was Cuban former volleyball player and three-time Olympic champion. Gato was a member of the Cuban women's national volleyball team that won gold medals in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Gato also won a gold medal at the 1994 FIVB World Championship in Brazil.
