Prayag Sahu

Prayag Sahu is among those contemporary theatre artists who have lived theatre with discipline, thought, and social responsibility. He began his acting career in 2008, and his journey continues to this day. His identity as a theatre artist and film actor has been growing steadily stronger. Along with acting, his understanding of writing and direction has further expanded his artistic path. He has played lead roles in numerous stage productions, worked with almost all major directors in Bhopal, and in 2024, he also took on the responsibility of direction. His deep association with theatre gave Prayag a strong foundation in acting-understanding the emotions behind words, the language of the body, and truthfulness on stage. He has always viewed theatre not merely as a performance, but as a medium of dialogue. His theatrical works clearly reflect everyday struggles, the complexities of relationships, and social realities. Prayag Sahu’s performances in films and short films are a result of the depth he gained through theatre. In front of the camera, his work appears restrained, realistic, and impactful. He believes that theatre taught him to understand a character from within, while cinema gave him the opportunity to express that character with subtlety. Continuing on this path, the short films he has acted in are being screened at major film festivals at the state, national, and international levels. Prayag’s purpose is not limited to acting alone. He believes in theatre that connects every generation-where ideas exist alongside entertainment. With continuous practice, an honest approach, and a strong desire to keep learning, Prayag Sahu is steadily establishing himself as a sensitive and responsible artist in both theatre and cinema.
