- Sol Berruezo Pichon-Rivière (1996) is a filmmaker from Argentina currently based in Iceland. She graduated in Film Direction from Universidad del Cine (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
Mamá, mamá, mamá is her first feature film, shot entirely by women, both in the crew and in the cast. Her debut film premiered at the Berlinale in 2020 in the Generation Kplus Competition, where it received a Special Mention from the Jury. She was also the youngest director at the 70th Berlinale. The film was later released theatrically in France, China, and Argentina.
At the beginning of 2021, with the support of Biennale College Cinema, she shot her second film, Nuestros días más felices. The film premiered at the 78th Venice International Film Festival (La Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica della Biennale di Venezia).
She is currently working on her third feature film set in Iceland, There’s Something That Illuminates and It’s Not the Sun, as well as developing a TV series.
She has also been awarded the Edda Award (Icelandic Academy Awards) for Best Youth Film for the Icelandic short film she directed, Geltu!.
