Biography

As a student at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Tamir had the great fortune of being invited to join the prestigious Negro Ensemble Company Theatre, where he performed in several Off-Off-Broadway productions. Shortly after graduation, he left the Bronx to tour internationally with the national production of Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit in London.

Now based in Los Angeles, Tamir has appeared opposite Jada Pinkett Smith on Hawthorne as Vernon. His past television credits include guest spots on Dexter, NYPD Blue, The Young and the Restless, The Pretender, Ghost Stories, That's Life, Guiding Light, New York Undercover, and All My Children.

Tamir also created, wrote, produced, and starred in the comedy web series Adversity the Webseries, alongside Enrico Colantoni. In 2007, he founded Tamirfilms Ltd., whose first project, Silencio, premiered to great success at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles.

His script, Citizen Troy aka Bye Felicia was selected for the second round of consideration for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, New Voices Lab, and the Episodic Story Lab.

His first film as producer starring Meshach Taylor in Silencio made its world premiere at the 2013 Pan-African Film Festival in Los Angeles Feb. 8 - 18.

Graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in drama and dance.
