Nemma Adeni is an actor and writer of Yemeni-Indian descent known for her command of languages and dialects. Based in LA and NYC, she works in English (standard American and British), Arabic, Hindi/Urdu, Gujurati, French, Mandarin and Spanish, and has also played roles that have required Farsi and German.
Her most recent film credits include "Witness" by Radha Mehta-which was a finalist for the Iris Prize and long-listed for Best Live Action Short for the 98th Academy Awards, and "Encuentro Americano"-a multiple award-winning short, including Best Ensemble at Portland Under the Stars Film Festival.
Her theatre credits include "Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy" at San Francisco Playhouse, the critically acclaimed World Premiere of "Memory Lane is a Desert Road" at Eight Ball Theatre, cover for the World Premiere of "The Aves" directed by Knud Adams at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, "ReOrient Festival of Plays" at Golden Thread Productions (for which she was named in KQED's Best Bay Area Theatre of 2023), several productions at Princeton University, and DUCTAC Dubai.
Nemma has trained in acting, voice & movement, dance, improvisation and singing at a variety of institutions through her career, including Princeton University, RADA (on-camera and Chekhov training), Empowerhouse Acting Studio, Last Acting Studio, The Groundlings School and Upright Citizens Brigade.
She is a graduate of Princeton University with a degree in Computer Science and a focus on Statistics and Machine Learning. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Arab Film and Media Institute.
