A Polish singer, she was considered an icon of Polish pop music. She was considered one of the most popular Polish singers of the 1970s. She released four studio albums, three of which were certified gold. During her career, she sang a total of about 160 songs by various composers. She died at approximately 11:15 a.m. near Okecie Airport in the crash of the Il-62 "Mikolaj Kopernik" aircraft flying from JFK Airport in New York to Warsaw, which crashed on approach to land.
