Esmond Romilly(1918-1941)

Although a member of the English upper class (and a nephew of the arch-conservative Winston Churchill), Esmond Romilly was an ardent Communist who abandoned his privileged lifestyle in England to fight against Franco and his fascists in the Spanish Civil War, publishing a book about the conflict when he was still in his teens. He married Jessica Mitford, but was killed in World War II.
