Alyssa Bruno is an independent producer and writer from Toronto, Ontario. She is known for projects such as Benevolent, The Runaway, and 10-33. She has had films screen in over 20 film festivals total, with the first of which being the documentary short film See Us which made its global debut at the ReFrame Film Festival. One of her most notable producing titles, Benevolent, went on the screen in 14 festivals including Vaughan International Film Festival and Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival, and was nominated for 5 awards, winning three.
Her screenwriting debut, a short film centred around a paramedic battling PTSD entitled 10-33, went on to screen in countless festivals including prominent mental health awareness festivals Believe Psychology Film Festival and Mental Filmness, where it received praise for its accuracy and storytelling. It also went on to win Best Student Short Film at the Berlin Indie Film Festival. Alyssa has since gone on to write the celebrated short film The Runaway, and the subsequent fictional podcast series Runaway: The Lost Tapes, penning all eleven episodes.
In 2023, she co-founded the media production company Runaway Productions Limited with friend and fellow Sheridan graduate Teryn Lawson, producing its debut series and working to develop more audio entertainment under the entity. In past projects, she has also lent her talent to the background on productions such as the lgbtq+ short film Sunrises for Darling as an Assistant Producer and the experimental short film Plastic Flowers as the Casting Director.
