Laura Sambono is an Australian film producer and co-founder of Razor Bear Films, a First Nations-led production company based in Western Sydney, developing elevated genre features for international audiences. After a successful career as an Architect designing real-world structures, Laura pivoted to building worlds on screen, bringing the same precision, imagination, and systems-driven thinking to film production.
With a background in architecture and project management, she balances creative leadership with strong logistical and delivery expertise. Her work centres on original, culturally grounded IP that blends bold commercial storytelling with clear thematic intent.
Laura leads a growing slate of projects including Drop Bears, winner of AACTA Pitch: Bite, developed with Screen Australia First Nations and supported by WIFT Australia. Her slate reflects a focus on bold, market-ready storytelling with global appeal.
Alongside Razor Bear Films, she co-founded Bright Llama Productions, now evolving into a social enterprise delivering Crew Pathways and Actor Cohort Programs. These initiatives support emerging NSW creatives through hands-on training, mentorship, and real production experience, creating a direct pipeline into her feature slate and underpinning her work across studio operations, talent development, and multi-project production management.
She is positioning Razor Bear Films’ feature projects for international finance, sales representation, and co-production, with the goal of building a globally recognised First Nations-led genre label.
