Jalen Blot(III)

Jalen Blot is a Haitian-American director, writer, and producer based in Los Angeles. His short film Before You Let Go, executive produced by ColorCreative / Issa Rae, earned a 2026 NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Short Form, Live Action, and screened at the Pan African Film Festival, BronzeLens Film Festival, Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival, S.E. Manly African American Short Film Showcase, and Reel Black Men Short Film Showcase. Blot is a 2024 ColorCreative Find Your People Directing Fellow and Commercial Directors Diversity Program Semi-Finalist. His additional directing credits include the pilot of The Comic Shop (ABFF Series Competition / FilmGood Film Festival), the short film trilogy Everything We Left Unsaid, and Colors of Sankofa, a Pan African Film Festival selection and AT&T SHAPE Semi-Finalist. Known for character-driven, performance-forward storytelling, Blot's work explores grief, intimacy, and the emotional complexity of human connection.
