Konstantinos Tasoulas
Konstantinos Tasoulas is a Greek politician and lawyer who has served as President of the Hellenic Republic since March 13, 2025. A long-standing member of the New Democracy party, he was elected to the Hellenic Parliament representing Ioannina from 2000 to 2025 and served as Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament from 2019 until his election to the presidency. Earlier in his career, he worked as a lawyer and as a close associate of Evangelos Averof, later entering local government as mayor of Kifisia in the 1990s. Tasoulas has held several senior government posts, including Deputy Minister of National Defense and Minister of Culture and Sports, where he oversaw major cultural institutions and policy decisions. As Speaker, he played a central role during periods of political controversy, including debates over surveillance practices. In February 2025, he was elected President by parliament and formally assumed office the following month.
