Winner of numerous awards including the prestigious IDA Award for Best Original Score, Ramachandra Borcar's passion for the unconventional has led to an astonishing array of scores, albums, and creative collaborations with artists and filmmakers from around the world, establishing him as one of the few poly-stylistic composers in the industry today.

From his work with metal icons Voivod and Metallica's Jason Newsted to collaborations with the legendary Mulatu Astatke (father of Ethio-Jazz), bandleader Marshall Allen (Sun Ra Arkestra) and UK Afro-jazz icon Shabaka Hutchings, Ram's musical multiverse glides effortlessly between modern orchestral writing, post-rock soundscapes, modal jazz, experimental electronics, and lyrical melodies.

An avid collector, Ram's ever-expanding library of over 15,000 vinyl LPs reflects his musical curiosity and versatility, serving as a constant source of inspiration for his critically acclaimed, award-winning scores across documentary, film & TV, and video games, including the commercial success, Far Cry 4.

Ram has been an avid record collector since he was a kid and has a vinyl-collection that's over 15,000 records strong. As a teenager he worked at Montreal's Primitive records on St-Denis Street and accepted his payment in vinyl.
