  • Jan-Willem Bult is an international film and tv maker/lecturer. At the age of 17 he started Atlantis Filmproductions and made a triptych of short films: Obsecration (1979), Two of hearts (1980), Hitch (1981). Since then he has been creating, producing and lecturing in over 70 countries worldwide. Bult's work for young audiences is known by his Children in the Centre© philosophy. From 1995-1997 he was also program director of 2 private thematic channels in the Netherlands: KinderNet (children) and VTV (women). In 1997 he became creative head of KRO Youth, Netherlands Public Broadcasting until 2014. Known for KRO Kindertijd (1999), First Child on the Moon (2001), Genji (2006), 2Brothers (2010), 6 tips om de beste voetballer van de wereld te worden (2010), Sien van Sellingen (2010). Then in 2014 he became the head of children, youth & media at Free Press Unlimited, known for WADADA News for Kids (2013), Kunumi, the Native Thunder (2016), Respect (2017). As an independent creator and producer he is known for a.o. Puertas Adentro (2017), Prix Jeunesse International 2020 awards show (2020), #MojZivot (2021), Joining Forces (2022), Felipe, de avocado's in Chili en klimaatverandering (2023), Fighting HIV, changing minds (2024).
