Biography

John Newman was born on 22 December 1945 in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. In 1964, he graduated from Geelong Grammar and began playing professional football that same year. He played 300 games for Geelong Cats and is now recognised as a legend of the club and of the game. In 2002, he was inducted into the AFL Hall Of Fame and included as a member of the Geelong Team Of The Century.

It is an absolute hoax, it's a rort, the Welcome to Country. Why do we have to be welcomed to the country we live in? Why is that? It is just a mark of division. The people who welcome you to country get a nice stipend out of it. Why do they charge? It's just a rort.

Next time you go to a public event like the Grand Final or a football game or any public event in an auditorium and they trot out the Welcome to Country, start booing... or slow hand clapping.
