- Edoardo Bennato was born on July 23, 1946 in Naples, Campania, Italy. He is a composer and actor, known for Il principe e il pirata (2001), Luca (2021) and Totò Sapore: The Pizza Story (2003).
- Son of Carlo Bennato and Adele Zito. Brother of Giorgio and Eugenio Bennato. Uncle of Carola, Fulvio and Eugenia Bennato (Eugenio's children).
- Notably, on the occasion of the 1990 FIFA World Cup, which was held in Italy, Edoardo sang the official song of the event: "Un'estate italiana" ("An Italian Summer") together with Gianna Nannini.
- He was the first Italian singer to fill the San Siro Stadium in Milan with more than sixty thousand people on July 19, 1980.
- Guitarist, harmonica player and singer, he later began to propose himself as one-man band, playing at the same time also tambourines, kazoo and other percussions.
- Also, Bennato was the first singer to have released two albums only 15 days apart in March 1980: Uffà! Uffà! and Sono solo canzonette.
