Biography

Gaël Leforestier was born on May 28, 1975 in Paris. He is a screenwriter and director, formerly a TV and radio host.

He has worked as a writer on many TV series such as "Soda" (Calt Productions), "Parents mode d'emploi (Parents Manual)" (Elephant Story), "Des jours meilleurs (Waiting for better days)" (Calt - France TV), "Vous les femmes (You women)" (Calt - Téva), "The Raving Rabbids" (Ubisoft), and he is today head writer of the animated series, "Pat the dog" (Disney Channel).

He is the writer of "La Grève des Femmes (Women's strike)", a TV movie broadcast on TF1, and the two "Soda" TV movies (broadcast on M6).

He's also the author with Julien Leimdorfer (with whom he has been working for many years under the nick-names Leimdo & Restier) of the 5D Raving Rabbids attraction at the Futuroscope (Thea Award 2014 for best achievement).

Still with Julien Leimdorfer, he wrote in 2018 a family comedy intended for cinema, "Les blagues de Toto(Toto's jokes)" (SND - Superprod - Bidibul). Shooting next summer.

Gaël is also director of commercials for BETC (Rita Films), Publicis (Prodigious), Havas and TBWA, and television series such as "Les Guignols" (Canal +)

While waiting to make his first feature film currently being written, Gaël is writing a romantic comedy with Julien Leimdorfer: #LOVE (Merlin Productions)

Gaël Leforestier begins his career by obtaining a grant from CNC at the age of 15 for a short film he will direct the following year, "STOP", with Robinson Stevenin in the main part. The film is awarded in several festivals.

He obtains a literary degree in 1994, and he is spotted by famous french TV host Michel Drucker. He then participates as a music chronicler on the TV show "Studio Gabriel" until 1997. Then, he hosts the show "En Juin ça sera bien (In June, it'll be alright)" from 1998 to 2000 on La Cinquième (today France 5). After hosting with Pierre Palmade an exceptional evening on cable (RTL9), he continues his career on both M6 with "Plus vite que la musique (Faster than music)" and on Teva with "Sex in the TV".

The following year, he joins France 2, where he hosts several shows. At the same time, he discovers radio hosting on NRJ where he hosts on daily basis for several months, after a half-season as a regular speaker alongside Laurent Ruquier on Europe 1. He also hosts until 2012 various broadcasts such as "En quête de nuit (In quest for night)" on TMC, "In live With" on Europe 2 TV, "Vertigo" on Jimmy, "Monte le son (Pump up the volume)" on France 4 among others.

But his real passion is cinema. In 2002, he leaves, camera in hand, to shoot a documentary in Algeria and Morocco, documentary entitled "The mysteries of the Oued", distributed by Gaumont and multi-broadcast on Canal +. He also directs a second short film, "Mission:Ethyl" with Vincent Desagnat and Omar Sy.

Gaël Leforestier is now dedicated to writing and directing.
