Biography

Billy Aronson was born on July 3, 1957. He is a writer and producer, known for Peg+Cat (2013), Rent (2005) and Wonder Pets! (2006). He has been married to Lisa Vogel since April 28, 1990. They have two children.

It was he who originally approached Jonathan Larson about telling a modern-day version of La Boheme, set on the West Side of New York City. Larson wanted to move it to the lower East Side, where he was living at the time. Eventually, Larson decided to pursue his own ideas for the adaptation, and bought out Aronson's rights to the project.
