Nelisa Ngcobo

Nelisa Ngcobo is a South African performer and writer for television and film. She began her screenwriting career writing on both season one and two of Mzansi Magic's The Queen (p. Ferguson Films) and followed up with writing on The River (series one, two and three, p. Tshedza Pics for 1Magic), The Republic (P. Tshedza Pics for Mzansi Magic) and the hugely popular Gomora (p. Seriti TV for Mzansi Magic). 2019 saw Nelisa join the team on Netflix's second African original Blood & Water for the production house Gambit Films. The series made the streamer's number one spot in 8 territories including the US in only three days and retained a top 10 position in a further dozen territories. Nelisa re-joined the team to write on series two which is currently in production. She is writing on Savage Beauty for Quizzical Pictures also for Netflix and is developing an original comedy drama for a top South African production house and US financier.
