Biography

Mario Mactas was born on August 13, 1944. He was a writer, known for Hay que parar la delantera (1977), Hola, señor León (1973) and Los golpes bajos (1974). He died on July 12, 2025 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He was also declared a prominent personality of the City of Buenos Aires, consolidating his position as a relevant figure in journalism and Argentine culture.

After a brief passage through studying university courses of Medicine and Philosophy, he found his vocation in journalism, a discipline that he considered "a branch of art," a definition that illustrated his vision of the profession and that expanded his work in the press, radio and television.

His contribution to broadcasting was recognized with the Konex Award in 2007, a distinction awarded for his performance during the previous decade.
