- Ryu Murillo Veyda was born on November 6, 1982 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. He is an assistant director and writer, known for Obra negra (2026), Aquí se hace cine (2023) and Julián (2014).
- His name comes from Ryu, the character of Street Fighter (1987) (VG), that was his nickname at elementary school because their hair was a-like; and his second last name (Veyda), comes from Vada Sultenfuss from My Girl (1991). He's an Anna Chlumsky's fan, so he honored her first feature appearance in his name. He changed the spelling so it could be correctly pronounced in Mexico.
