- He was at the San Juan Pan American Games in Puerto Rico in 1979 and played and joined the team in three Davis Cup matches against Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.
- After 15 years of career, he became a coach and worked at his home club, the Aliança de Novo Hamburgo Society and also at the Hamburg Gymnastic Society and the Wallau Sports Center. He was currently a partner and coordinator of the high-performance ADK Academy in Itajaí.
- Kley was one of the great names in Brazilian tennis during the 1980s, even competing in Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open.
- After his retirement from competitions, Ivan followed his trajectory as director of the ADK Tennis academy, in partnership with Patricio Arnold, contributing to the development and training of new generations of tennis players.
- He was a three-time adult Brazilian champion, in 1984 and 88-89, but in the first he scored a rare feat, by winning three trophies.
