Dr. Atirek Sharma Bhardwaj is a dynamic Indian actor, producer, and scholar whose career seamlessly bridges the worlds of cinema and public service. Armed with a Ph.D. in History and formal acting training from the prestigious National School of Drama (NSD) and AAFT, he is known for bringing profound intellectual depth to his performances and visionary leadership behind the camera.
He burst onto the national stage in 2004 by winning the Best Dancer award on Zee TV’s reality talent hunt, Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj (2004). This breakthrough paved the way for his cinematic debut in Akbar Khan’s historical epic Taj Mahal (2005), followed by a role in Priyadarshan’s hit comedy Hulchul (2004). He quickly became a familiar face on Indian television, starring in popular series like CID (1998) and Shree Sifarshi Lal (2006), and appearing in reality shows like Rakhi Ka Swayamwar (2009).
Transitioning behind the scenes, he co founded the successful production banner Eternal Dreams, which delivered the massive 9X reality hit Yeh Hai Jalwa (2008). In 2012, he took full leadership to evolve the company into Lamp Post Studio. Driven by a deep commitment to social welfare, Dr. Bhardwaj took a decade long hiatus from the entertainment industry (2016 2025) to dedicate himself to public service in Maharashtra. His extensive grassroots work earned him widespread respect, culminating in a historic 2021 invitation to sign the Sabarmati Ashram visitor’s book a rare honor shared with top national leaders.
In 2025, Dr. Bhardwaj made a triumphant return to his creative roots. Honored with consecutive Dadasaheb Phalke Awards in 2025 and 2026 for his combined excellence in acting and social work, he took on a starring role in the Zee TV series Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile (2026). As the Chairman and Managing Director of Lamp Post Studio, he expertly balances his time in front of the camera with producing a new slate of television shows, films, and the action-thriller web series, Bullet (2026).
