  • Pace was killed in a light aircraft accident in the eastern slope of Serra da Cantareira, a city in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, on 18 March 1977, thirteen days after fellow Formula 1 driver Tom Pryce during the 1977 South African Grand Prix.
  • Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for Williams (1972 (11 GPs)), Surtees (1973 (15 GPs)-1974 (7 GPs)) and Brabham (1974 (6 GPs)-1975 (14 GPs)-1976 (16 GPs)-1977 (3 GPs)). He started 72 Grands Prix, 1 Win, 1 Pole Position, 5 Fastest Laps, 6 Podiums and 58 Points. Best ranked in the World Championship: 6th in 1975.

  • He went on to become Brazilian champion in 1967, 1968 and 1969 with an Alfa Romeo T33.
  • Won the 1975 Brazilian Grand Prix. After his death, the track where he won was named in his honor in 1985.
