Abraham Cupeiro is a skillful instrument builder and multi-instrumentalist, renowned for bringing ancient instruments back to life. He creates new sonorities by placing them in contemporary, symphonic, and cinematic repertoires far from their original context.Classically trained as a trumpet player at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Madrid and holder of a Master's in Early Music Interpretation from Barcelona, Cupeiro has always embraced all musical worlds, from classical to folk and jazz. He is one of the few musicians who play the Karnyx (an Iron Age Celtic trumpet), having played the famous Tintinac Karnyx. He is also an ambassador of the Galician "corna" (cow horn). His passion for organology led him to gather a collection of over 200 ancient pieces, showcased in his project "Ringing in the past". His acclaimed discography includes 'Os Sons Esquecidos', 'Pangea' (recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra), and 'Mythos' (2024).A prominent figure in the cinematic world, Cupeiro was chosen by director Ridley Scott and composer Harry Gregson-Williams to bring ancient sounds to the soundtrack of Gladiator II (2024). His music is also featured in major Netflix productions, including Steven Spielberg's Life on Our Planet (2023) and the biblical film Mary (2024), starring Anthony Hopkins, where he performed on 25 different historical instruments. He composed the score for María Solinha and collaborates closely with Hans Zimmer's company, 14th Street Music.
